 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

FOR HOME REPAIRS

HELPFUL HINTS

·        Start by contacting the neighborhood organization nearest you

·        Ask to speak to the grant person, get their name and note the date

·        Ask what are the qualifications for their grants

·        Explain your situation

·        Ask if you qualify for any grants

·        Ask if there is any grant money available

·        If not, when will there be grant money available

·        Ask if you can fill out an application or be put on their list

·        Ask if they know of any other organizations that have grants

·        Contact another organization on the list

Grant money comes and goes quickly.

Mark on your calendar to make monthly calls to all the organizations you contacted. Ask for the same person you talked to before. Try to develop a good relationship.

Grant money is very limited. So, if money is not available when you call, don’t give up, just keep trying.

Be Persistent.

Be Patient.

Be Polite.

... and, Good Luck!
